The onset of fall and the chilly winds of October send memories flitting about in my mind like leaves drifting from the trees. I often think back to October of 2003, when the cold winds of death took aim on my husband.

Shortly after the birth of our second child, we found ourselves on a VERY strict budget. To be honest, we had $25 a week to feed the four of us and that included diapers, hygiene products and all the cleaners and paper products. Granted the baby was breastfed, and Olivia was around 3 and not a big eater, but still $25 didn’t go far in the natural….
