The Strength of Joy

If you’ve been around church any amount of time, you’ve heard someone quote the second half of Nehemiah 8:10 The joy of the Lord is your strength.

I’ve heard lots of sermons on the topic.   The best sermons being on the differences between being happy and having joy. It’s truly important to know those differences!  Yet sometimes I just don’t feel joy…and sometimes I don’t necessarily feel strong.

This past week though, I heard my new pastor say something that was like a little light bulb moment.

He said that when all heck is breaking loose in your life and things seem to be out of control, but YET you trust in God despite how it looks, it is then that you are showing the strength that comes from the joy of knowing God is in control.

Now maybe to you that doesn’t say or mean anything.  But to me, it was an AHA! moment.

Do you ever feel like you just need someone to come along side of you and give you a little encouragement?  Yeah, me too.   I’m excited to announce that I’ll be co-leading a new on-line (in)couragers group especially geared to educators (including teachers, homeschool moms and professors).banner-incouragers

The Spring 2014 session runs from May 26 – July 4.  It’s a place to build relationships, get and give encouragement and recharge.   I know I need some recharging on a regular basis, and I’m sure you do to!

So join me, and my co-leader Katrina Lee,  for this amazing time of refreshment and relationship building.   Registration begins today (May 19, 2014)  simply click here and follow the super easy directions!

Maybe you’re thinking a group for educators isn’t your cup of tea.  Not to worry, there are MANY types of groups available, and one is just right for you.
